Freedom To is pleased to feature a 4 - Day Chiang Mai Culinary Tour. It is a must for foodies and for those who have a passion in culinary delights. And this year we offer multiple dates because they have been so popular in the past.

One of the oldest cities in Thailand, the 700 years old ancient capital of Chiang Mai boosts charms like few places elsewhere.

Then there’s the night market. As night bazaars go, the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is somewhat amazing. The vibrant atmosphere and staggering number of products available for sale, is also a foodie delight. This makes this market one of the biggest draws in the city, for locals and visitors alike - and for good reason. Hundreds of restaurants and street food stalls for all tastes can be found here.

From the characteristic taste of Northern Thai cuisine, the exceptional beauty of Lanna culture, to the welcoming smile of local people, we guarantee you'll leave with some wonderful and fond memories.

DAY 1 Friday - Arrival in Chiang Mai

Your accommodation is booked at the Banthai Village and check in is permitted from 1400hrs onwards. If you are flying into Chiang Mai today, please advise us of your flight details. If not, simply make your way to the Banthai Hotel

You first evening is totally free, perhaps visit the famous Chiang Mai night market and customise yourself with the sights, smells and taste of this amazing regions. Or simply walk around the old town and market to get a feel for this beautiful city.

Day 2 Saturday - Collection at 08.30 after breakfast

This three-day tour starts with an introduction into the unique tastes of northern Thailand with a visit to bustling Warorot Market to explore the range of local spices, herbs and popular ingredients.

We can sample local snacks, including sai oua (grilled northern-style sausage) and cap moo (crispy pork skin), before soaking up the colours at a neighbouring flower and fruit market.

We then head out of the city to sample kao soi, soft yet crispy wheat noodles in curry broth, before visiting the ancient city of Wiang Kum Kam, which is home to excavated items that date

Day 3 Sunday - Collection at 08.30 after breakfast

We head to the countryside to spend the morning surrounded by lush greenery at Araksa Tea Plantation in the heart of Mae Tang district’s rolling hills.

Here we will learn more about the tea-growing process and join tea pickers, who select the leaves based on age-old traditions, before sampling an infusion.

We return to Chiang Mai for a lunch of delicacies hailing from Yunnan in China before we take a picturesque drive to Wat Doi Suthep. Perched on a forested mountain, this is Chiang Mai’s most sacred temple and affords sweeping views across the city.

Day 4 Monday - Collection at 08.30 after breakfast

Today completes your culinary adventure in Chiang Mai with a morning cookery class at Grandma’s Home Cooking School. A new cooking course has been developed that gives an insight into authentic, home-made Thai food.

Situated just 20 minutes from central Chiang Mai, Grandma’s Home Cooking School is located in a small, charming village in Saraphi district. This idyllic destination also provides a rural farm life experience. Guests are picked up from respective hotels at 8.30 am for the morning session.
